EXPERIENCED INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGNER VACANCY
based in Richmond, Surrey (London), salary on application, updated July 2009

The Instructional Designer role is key to Healthy Media’s collaborative development of e-learning solutions. The role involves the holder in developing and managing relationships with a range of subject matter experts across diverse projects. It requires the holder to work collaboratively with Subject Matter Experts to define the e-learning content requirements, develop the content for/with the SMEs, review developed materials with the experts and manage the development process from initiation to completion.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own the relationship with clients for the specification and delivery of e-learning
  • Working with content experts to gather and document requirements
  • Motivate and drive the contributing SMEs to deliver the best content possible
  • Develop plans, content, quizzes and interactions with the SMEs that deliver the structure and content of the e-learning courses
  • Ensure that courses pass internal QA requirements, are reviewed for correctness and signed-off by clients
  • Manage and participate in the production of graphics, animations, video, audio and interactive components with internal and external teams
  • To track activity and provide progress information to so that effort and achievement can be clearly seen and measured

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE:

Essential:

  • Experience of instructional design
  • Very good written and spoken English
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good presentation skills
  • Ability to develop and manage relationships
  • Ability to facilitate at meetings
  • Technical Essentials
    • Adobe Captivate – intermediate
    • Adobe Flash – intermediate
    • HTML/XHTML/CSS – basic
    • Audio Editing – basic

Desirable but not essential:

  • Experience of training and development
  • Experience developing courses in Lectora
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience of project management
  • Masters or higher-level education degree in eLearning, education or life-sciences
